You guys are first in line at Neck Deep. You did it. What time did you guys get here?
Molly: “Like two.”
Robert: “One o’clock.”
You’ve been here since 01:00. That’s commitment. First of all, on a Monday day. Did you call in from work?
Robert: “Yes. Vacation time.”
Molly: “Vacation time.”
I love it. I love that January PTO. Do you guys have a favorite neck deep, either song memory? How many times have you guys seen them?
Robert: “I’ve seen them, this will be my fourth time. And I’ll probably say favorite song is Kali Ma.”
Molly: “So I saw them here, six years ago. That was the last time I saw him. And so a lot has changed since then, so I’m excited to see them as a new person.”
Is there a song that you’re really excited to hear?
Molly: “I think they’re playing ‘Losing Teeth’ tonight. I’m really excited.”
They just came out with the new album recently. If you had to pick either favorite song off the new album or favorite line from a lyric, what do you think?
Robert: “I really like their opening song. And then also… Well, all of them. They’re all good.”
Molly: “Honestly, same thing. It’s just a really good album. I don’t know.”
Self titled too. I feel like to have a self titled album, you have to go. You have to do it right. So thinking back then, to all of their albums, all of their releases, is there a certain song that just hits different that you love, or is there one that you’re just like. It’s your go to favorite song.
Molly: “‘Wish You Were Here’ came out right after my grandma passed away. And so it hit hard. It hit real hard.”
Robert: “I would probably say ‘December’. I don’t know why, but it’s just like, hits the feels, you know what I’m saying?”
Oh yeah! Do you guys have any, either fun Neck Deep stories, your first time seeing them, or a tattoo for Neck Deep? Anything like that?
Robert: *points to his arm*
All right, so hold on, let’s see. Is this all Neck Deep?!
Robert: “Yeah, so it’s all from ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’ so their second album. And then the line ‘pain is never permanent, but tonight’s killing me’.”
That’s amazing! How long have you been a fan of Neck Deep?
Robert: “2015… I want to say. Not going to lie to you, I kind of stopped listening to them for, like, two years, and then, I don’t know, for some reason, one of the songs just popped up on my YouTube feed or whatever it was, and then I was like, oh man I forgot about them! And then I’ve just been listening to them ever since. Then after that, they’ve just been my favorite. Favorite band, favorite artist.”
Love that. And what about you?
Molly: “Yeah, I guess beginning of high school so 2014/2015.”
And it’s been six years since you’ve seen them. So a lot has changed.
Molly: “Oh, yeah. Lots of change. Different person. Completely different person. Same love for Neck Deep.”
