And you mentioned you have a Neck Deep tattoo?
“I do – It’s a flower pot. It says In Bloom on top of it. People usually confuse it with Nirvana, but I always explain. But, yeah, I got this after my first time seeing them, and it was just such a good experience. One of the best days of my life. So I had to get a tattoo.”
When was that show? Tell me about that…
“It was mid summer last year. It was a small venue, it was at scout bar. I’d never really seen too many artists, and they were one of the artists I really had wanted to see. And it was just like one of the greatest days of my life. I moshed so hard, I got to go on stage with them, and it was just so much fun. The opener was great. I’d never heard of the opener. That’s usually how I go into concerts. But the opener they picked was so good, and it was just really fun.”
Is there a certain song that got you hooked to Neck Deep the first time you saw them or the first time you heard them?
“So I’m sober from drugs and alcohol. I suffer from addiction. And when I was in rehab, right before I went to rehab, I had just discovered their popular song In Bloom. And that’s what got me through to where I am today. Got two years yesterday, actually.”

“Thank you! And so this was perfect planning as well the day after. But, yeah, I just played In Bloom all day long. One of my counselors there, they printed out the lyrics for it, and I just read it all day long and imagined I was listening to the song. And then eventually I just got progressively more and more into their music.”
So if they play In Bloom tonight, are you just going to lose your mind?
“Yes! I definitely am. The song I want them to play the most right now is She’s a God. That one’s also one of my favorites.”
