So we’re at LANY tonight in Tulsa – how many times have you guys seen LANY before? Or is this your first time?
Jessica: “Second time.”
Savannah: “Second together. I think it’ll be my fifth.”
Amazing. How long have you guys been fans of LANY?
Savannah: “Oh, my gosh. Since the beginning. Since the ‘Hot Lights’ days so a long time”
Do you remember how you found them?
Jessica: “Her!”
Savannah: “YouTube, Soundcloud – all that. Way back when, like 2013/2014.”
Do you remember the first song you heard by them?
Savannah: “Hot Lights”
Jessica: “Probably something like ILYSB. Long time ago”
What about LANY’s music really drew you in at first? Were you an instant fan or did it take a little while to kind of get into them?
Savannah: “I feel like it was pretty instant.”
Jessica: “It took me a little while. But I think he’s just very unique.”
Savannah: “And being from Tulsa, I love that he’s also from here. Went to ORU all of that. I feel like we have this connection because of that.
Is there a song that you guys are really looking forward to hearing tonight or really hope gets played tonight?
Jessica: “Congrats.”
Savanah: “Yeah, we were talking about congrats earlier. We haven’t heard that one live. They didn’t have that one released at the last concert.”
Amazing. Is there a song that you have a certain connection to, makes you think of something, makes you think of someone
Savannah: “My favorite song is ‘Forever’, which is from one of their eps forever ago. My fiancé and I met because of LANY, so just all of their songs mean a lot to me, just knowing that that’s how we kind of connected and bonded.”
Okay, tell me that story. How did you guys meet!?
Savannah: “So there was a trend going around during COVID and I had posted something on my story and it had all the LANY albums and eps and all of that. We went to school together, so we kind of knew each other, but he slid up and was like, ‘oh my gosh you know LANY?!’, because they were still a pretty small band at that point. And we just got talking all through COVID and met up and went on a few dates and now four years later we’re engaged and getting married which is so fun. So shout out Paul for that!”
